December Update

It's almost Christmas and you're so excited!  Daddy and I took a vacation and you stayed with Grandmom and Grandpop.  I can tell you were a little traumatized, but you are fine and I hope that you have learned that Mommy and Daddy go away now and again but we come back.  You've been fussy which is typical for your age, but tonight you were so good!  It was so refreshing to have a happy kid again!  We went out to dinner and you had shrimp for the first time and you had 4 of them!!  You kept eating them and asking for more!  At one point at dinner you got really still so I asked you if you were pooping.  You said "No!  I peeing!"  LOL!  Great!  You have also, over the last few days, started saying "Mommy, hold me!"  Instead of your usual "Mommy hold you!"  While it's great that you are learning to speak correctly - but I'll miss your little signature sentence!  I'll try to post something after Christmas.  We'll have family here from Cambodia so we'll  be a bit busy, but I'll try!  :)

New Stuff

You can whistle - which is amusing.  Not many kids your age can whistle so I'm impressed.  :)  You're talking up a STORM!  You're cutting 3 molars at once right now...but overall you're still happy.  We've had a few grumpy days, but with 3 teeth hurting you - I don't blame you one bit.  You had a blast at Halloween and I'll post a video of that shortly.  My favorite thing you said recently was that you didn't want to go to school:

Jax: "No school Mommy"
Mommy "Yes, School.  Jax has to go to school because Mommy has to go to work."
Jax: "Why?"
Mommy "Because Mommy has to make money"
Jax: "Why?"
Mommy: "So Mommy can buy you toys!"
Jax: "No.  Santa bring toys."

Winnie the Pooh

You asked about the bear on your light switch and i told you it was Winnie the Pooh.  We also happened to have a stuffed Winnie plush so I showed him to you and you hugged him.  This was Saturday.  Today is Monday and you haven't let that bear go!  You've napped with it and carry it all over the house.  This morning you wanted to take it to school but I told you to leave it here at home.  :(  Poor baby.  So, it appears that you are having a sudden love affair with Mr. The Pooh.  :)

Foffing

You have a cold and are coughing.  When you cough you say "Mommy, I foffed."  I adore it!!  Hope you feel better soon!

Belly

Tonight I asked you what your belly button was for.  You said "For tickles Mommy".  How can I argue with that?

It's a bird.  It's a plane!  It's SUPER JAXON!

The Potty!!!

My little man, you are growing up too fast!  This morning you asked to use the potty.  I put you on the seat and sure enough, there was a distinct tinkle sound and you giggled and giggled as you tinkled.  I cried, but cheered you on!  Hooray Jaxon!!!!  :)  Daddy and I made a big fuss over you and I made sure everyone at school knew so they can fuss over you today as well.  Good job, my love!  Keep it up!!

Chocolate

You hate having your nails cut and therefore I hate cutting them.  :(  Lately I've resorted to bribing you with M&Ms to get you to sit still while I clip.  If you sit still, you get 4 M&Ms.  It works like magic.  Tonight as I was cooking dinner - you started to shout that you wanted me to take your shoes off.  You hate to have your  shoes off so this was a very odd request.  I asked you why you wanted them off and your reply was "Cut nails Mommy!  Chocolate!"  LOL!  Your little brain knew that you get chocolate after cutting nails - you were willing to brave not only shoes off, but nail clipping for some chocolate.  You didn't get it till after dinner, but you got yourself some chocolate tonight just for being creative!  :)  Priceless.

JID - Jaxon's Independence Day

2 years ago today you came home from the NICU to us.  What an exciting and frightening day!!  You were still not due to be born for another month!  I was so happy to not have to drive to the hospital to see you for a few hours each day but scared stiff to have to be responsible for you 24 hours a day!!  No monitors beeping or checking your breathing, no nurses to help me feed and change you, no dr's to keep you healthy - all just us - a family at last.  The past 2 years have been so incredible!  I'm so happy you're here with us!

Hansell Picnic

Today was the annual Hansell picnic and we were able to go for a little bit.  This morning you were starving and ate a waffle, berries, yogurt, some plum and some apple!  But then I couldn't get you to eat anything much for lunch.  You had a late nap because of the picnic so you went down around 3 and are still sleeping now at 5:34.  I suppose I should wake you soon or you'll never to go bed tonight.  I have dinner cooking so you can eat as soon as you wake.  :)  Daddy is working tonight so it's just you and me kid!!  :)

2 Years Old!!

You turned two last week and I really, truly cannot believe that it was two years ago that you entered my world.  I'm sure i'll say that every year to come.  :)  We did, in fact, get your passport photos taken and then your passport and then we whisked you away to Mexico for a week of sun and fun.  You did ok, for a two year old. :)  At your 24m checkup we found that you had a double ear infections!!  I really had no idea and I feel badly that you have possibly been suffering without me knowing, but I'm happy that we're making it better now.  You measure 35 inches (70%), 26 lbs (25%) and 20 inches head circumference (95%).  You actually weigh the same as you did at 18m but you grew 2 inches!  :)  My tall skinny kiddo.  Now that we're fixing your ears and you're feeling better, hopefully you'll eat more and you'll pack on some pounds.  It's Friday and I can't wait to go get you from school and start our weekend!!  Love you!

Tuesday

Tonight you were in love with tomato soup.  I made grilled cheese to go with it, but you only had about 2 bites of that...you wanted soup and more soup.  You ate up your first bowl and asked for more.  Ok.  :)  I can think of worse things for you.  Daddy came home and took you for a walk, which you loved.  I can tell you missed your walks with Dad while he was away.  I tried to get you outside, but I'm not Daddy!  :)  Tomorrow I think we'll try to go get your passport pictures taken.  I'm hoping it just goes smoothly - if you pitch a fit, it'll be a joyous occasion, for sure.  :)  Sleep well, my love.

Catching up

I always think I'll be better at updating this than I am.  You're getting SO BIG and you're SO SMART!  I'm constantly amazed at the new things you do!  Right now you are sitting at your table coloring.  Our little game to play now is you shout "MOMMY!!!  Are you?"  as to say, Mommy where are you?  This morning we were laying in bed waking daddy up and I said "Daddy!  Where are you??"  You held up your hand and pointed at Daddy as if to say, "Uh Mom?  He's right here!"  SO ADORABLE!  You're also saying "Please" (Pees) and "Thank you" (Dat Du) much better lately so we're doing well with your manners.  Last night we took you to see the Reading Phillies game and you had a great time!  I can't wait to take you again!!!!

February 2

The Groundhog saw his shadow this morning, but nobody really cares. :) The weather has been oddly warm this winter and I'll take it! You were cute today. We went outside this morning for our 'listen' to the world. There were birds singing all over the place and one flew right by us! You loved it!! You were so excited! Then, to top it all off, a HUGE falcon flew over our heads to his home in the trees behind out house. I love watching you see the world! The smallest things make your day and that makes my day!

I got you a bunch of Elmo things - a plate, bowl, spoon and knife set. You were so excited and you ate really well. You kept pointing at your spoon saying "MELMO!"

You are the CUTEST thing ever!!!

Fun night

You must be feeling better because you were a joy tonight. We caught a beautiful sunset as we arrived home. I said "Oh, isn't that pretty?" and you surprised me and said "Pretty!" The wind was blowing the clouds around rather swiftly and you were watching them, so I said "The wind is blowing the clouds, huh?" You immediately blew out your breath like you were blowing out a candle. You knew exactly what I meant! You ate a good dinner for the first time in days and you did really well drinking water from your big-boy cup. When you wanted your shoes off, you grabbed your shoe and looked at me and said "Sshhhhh" (For shoe), so I helped you get them off. You went for a walk with Daddy - you were in your backpack. You really seem to love it in there, you can almost climb in yourself and you yell when I have to get you out. Then it was time for your bath, which you can also say. When I tell you it's time for your bath, you say "Baffff" and go running up the steps. When I get you into your jammies, I kiss your belly and you laugh and laugh. When I stop - you point to your belly and said "Mooore!" I love it!! Sleep well, my love. I'll see you in the morning!

I haven't posted in a while so I thought I would update. You've been a little under the weather - first a double ear infection and now a pretty bad cold. I'm hoping you start to feel better soon. There's not too much I can do to make you feel better right now. :( You're trying to say more and more words. You now say many, like "more", "home", "light", "milk", "candle"(you try to say that one anyway) "bath", "phone" (Sounds like "moan")...you say 'bye bye' and wave - and you also blow kisses. Soon you will be 19 months old! I can hardly believe it!
